The Bath Children’s Literature Festival 2014 runs this year from Friday 26th September until Sunday 5th October and promises to be even bigger and better than previous years. With the award winning author David Almond, best known for his work ‘Skellig’ among other children’s novels, back for a second year as the Artistic Director, bring your kids along for a festival that celebrates and encourages the joys of reading.
The literature festival always attracts a number of children’s authors and illustrators from across the globe and with live book and poetry readings you can see your children spellbound by powerful lyrics and hilarious imagery, making them laugh and cry at the same time.
The aim of the festival is simple, to open the minds of children and adults alike to the pure, simple magic of reading.
Watch as worlds unfold before your very eyes and you can even take away some reading material for the coach or to read to the kids before bed!
There are a variety of workshops taking place throughout the festival with a small fee for children under 7, but adults and older children get free entry. The festival is held at various locations throughout the city centre, so why not enjoy the sights of Bath while you’re there?
