From the 7th August to the 10th August 2014 around 800 recipients of life changing organ transplants will gather together to take part in the British Transplant Games in Bolton. With a number of events to compete in, including volleyball, archery, swimming and cycling, the Transplant Games promise to be four days of excitement and friendly competition.
The opening ceremony commences in Victoria Square at 6:30pm on the 7th August, where all the teams will congregate and parade in the square. The opening ceremony will also mark the lighting of the Donor Family Flame, so make sure not to miss it! Coach Transport Group provides first class transport for those wishing to get to Bolton but don’t want to have to worry about catching a train or hailing down a taxi. Call today to book your coach!
If you’re not a transplant recipient but want to show your support you can always participate in the 3k or 5k donor run to help raise awareness of the need for volunteer organ donors for the NHS Register. Becoming an organ donor is one of the best things you can do in your life and it makes no bearing on your day to day living. Find out more about the British Transplant Games at their website!
