London Christmas Markets

As the summer comes to a close and we start creeping into the colder months, the evenings sneak in closer and closer; it might be a good idea to start thinking about booking your coach or minibus to visit the fantastic Christmas markets of London. Whether you are planning on going with a big family group, a sorority or as an educational trip for a school, it is important to make sure you get your booking in good and early in order to start planning out your day properly.

So where are the best places to see at Christmas? As always, London is a humdrum of activity and during the holiday season that is no different. However the normal bustle of the city is overcome with a slight glow, as a layer of tinsel and carols cover each street. Anywhere can become magical at Christmas time, so why not check out these great Christmas events throughout Greater London.

winter wonderlandWinter Wonderland – Hyde Park

20th Nov – 3rd Jan
The magic returns once more this year as the whole of Hyde Park is utterly transformed, with market stalls, fairground rides, ice sculptures and a beautiful observation wheel from which you can see the whole park. Really get into the festive spirit with the ice rink around the Victorian Bandstand, or run away and join the circus for an evening by watching the shows at Zippos Circus and Cirque Beserk. It is certainly an attraction not to be missed when visiting London at Christmas time.

Red Cross London Christmas Fair – Kensington Town Hall

25th Nov
Offering a wide array of gifts and snacks available from over 70 stalls, you can pick up beautiful clothing presents for both guys and gals, choose some sumptuous tea leaves and even grab a few arts and crafts pieces for the kids to try out. There is also a Santa’s grotto and a First World War Exhibition for those young’uns and old’uns of the group so there is something available for everyone here.

Hyper Japan Christmas Market – Tobacco Dock

27th – 29th Nov
For something a little more culturally eastern, try the Hyper Japan Christmas market, where you can visit a number of traditional stall selling Japanese goods, snacks, drinks and more. Grab a few pop culture presents for your teenage relatives, or try some authentic Japanese food with sushi stalls, Christmas-themed cooking demonstrations and a wide range of other confectionery for sale.

regent street Guildhall Christmas Market – Guildhall Yard

1st Dec
With over 100 stalls selling a wide array of different gifts and gadgets for all to enjoy, grab a spot of Christmas shopping laden with festive spirits. You can even grab a few snacks along the way from Christmas themed food stalls dotted throughout the market. You can also spend some time making your own basket using the basket-making workshop, or take a few moments to sit back and enjoy the show at the ‘relaxation station’.

Booking with Coach Transport Group this early on ensures that you will have everything you need when you come to finalise your London Christmas Market plans. While it might seem like September is fairly early to book a coach or a minibus for Christmas market, our bookings become extremely popular over the holiday season so it is important to book early to avoid disappointment. Private Coach for Corporate Events

Although Skype calls and on-line meetings are fast gaining popularity, in many cases there is still a necessity to hold corporate events where large companies get together to demo their products, exchange contracts and make business connections. From time to time you may find yourself going to such a planned event with your company or business. You may need to take some employees with you or your company is showcasing a product.

Arranging both travel and accommodation is important when it comes to these events, as you’ll want to look organised and professional. Booking a coach for hire to get and your team safely to and from the event can have a number of benefits, including:

talkingCoaches to Suit your Business
Coaches come in a variety of sizes and designs. There are even luxury and designer coaches available to hire for high end corporate events. You won’t need to miss out on the quality of your travel by booking a coach.

Prompt and Punctual
Unlike carpools or arranging to meet outside the venue at a certain time, booking a coach guarantees that your entire team will arrive at the event together and on time.

Helps to Save on Fuel and Organise events more efficiently
Arriving by coach looks efficient and if you want to go that extra step further, you could also say that it helps to reduce your company’s carbon footprint as well as saving on combined fuel costs.

Give up driving everywhere for Lent – hire a minibus with work mates instead

carpooling-32719_640It is a common practice to give up something you would normally rely on for lent, almost like a miniature ‘New Year’s Resolution’ as such. People spend lent trying to give up chocolate, wine, smoking and a whole number of bad habits that they often indulge in every day. It is a chance to see whether or not you have the willpower to stick at something for 40 days.

423813351_ee49c0b3e7_zWhy not try something a little different during Lent this year and give up driving to work? If you get your entire workplace in on it you could pool together money saved on petrol in order to hire a ‘work’ coach or minibus which would take everyone there in one go.

Carpooling it has always been a great way of reducing your carbon footprint, so why not take it one step further by hiring a company coach and get everyone in on it? It sounds a little crazy, but it might be a fun and quirky way of highlighting potential environmental issues with driving to the workplace and you may even make a few new friends on the coach journey!

Avoiding the Pitfalls of Coach Hire

It can be difficult to get the best value for money when looking for a high quality, yet affordable coach or minibus for hire. You may have a specific set of requirements for your coach hire; you may need it for a certain number of days or your may even need a coach at the last minute. There are a whole host of reasons as to why you may be caught out hiring a coach service that is less than satisfactory, and it is important not to fall into common traps so that you definitely get what you paid for when hiring a coach.

download (4)Check out Their Website
Not every reputable coach hire company will have a website, but if they do have a website and it is in good working order then this is a fairly solid sign that they are a renowned company. A website that is not up to date or that has broken images or links on it should raise some red flags.

downloadLook through Reviews – But don’t be too harsh
Reviews are always a good way to have a look at a service before you hire that service. However be careful of scathing reviews as in some cases this may just be a case of a picky or irritable customer. Learn to take the good with the bad!

Take Recommendations
Ask your family and friends if they have hired a coach or a minibus before. Was their experience pleasant? Why not hire out the same company? It is also important to bear in mind that different people have different tolerance levels, so you’ll certainly get two very different accounts from the same company when talking to a university student in comparison to, say, talking to your stalwart parents-in-law. Use your better judgement when choosing whose advice to take!

Top Travel Tips for Long Coach Journeys – Part 1

When you’re on a long coach journey, it can get boring and uncomfortable, particularly if you have young children who are easily irritable. However there are a few simple things that you can do to help alleviate your boredom and also to help ease any aches and pains that may creep up on you when you finally get your feet moving at the end of the ride!

travel pillowComfy Shoes and Clothing

Wear loose clothing that you can take off in layers in accordance with the temperature of the coach. There is nothing worse than being stuck in a tight dress for 5 hours with nothing to change into! Likewise for comfy shoes, as they can help reduce irritation!

Travel Pillow

Long coach journeys can make you sleepy, so make sure you pack a nice travel pillow so that you don’t get a crick in your neck sleeping against the window.

wet wipwsMoving About

Try to move your legs every now and then. Being stuck in the same position for an extended period of time can increase discomfort so even if it is wiggling your toes or bouncing your feet, mix it up a little! But try not to irritate the person in front of or next to you!

Hygiene

Wet wipes are an essential for any long journey, particularly if you’re keen on snacking on coaches. You don’t want to leave sticky fingerprints all over the armrest for the next unfortunate passenger!
