Dating back to 1711, The Royal Ascot is the most widely anticipated event of the Ascot Racecourse’s year. Every Annual Royal Ascot is attended by Queen Elizabeth II and various members of the British Royal Family to show their support for the event. Whether you’re an avid fan of the races, or you would like the chance to experience this momentous event, you do not want to miss out. The Royal Ascot takes place from Tuesday 16th June 2015 to Saturday 20th June 2015
The Ascot Racecourse can be reached by taxi or by hired coach for larger groups of attendees. Why not make it a grand day out by hiring a 12 or 16 seater minibus to the royal Ascot with your entire family? Or if there are more of you in a larger group, say 24 or 32, why not hire one of our private coaches available in a range of sizes? Children under 18 are admitted free of charge on all days throughout Royal Ascot, and there are a wide range of tickets available to suit all budgets.
What Can We Expect to See?
With a stunning £5.5 million in prize money, many of the world’s finest racehorses travel from all over in a chance to win this all-time grand prize. On occasion, members of the royal family have even watched their own horses participate and win in the races; the most recent of which being The Queen’s horse Estimate, who won in 2013.
However it is not all about racing. With each day of the event bringing forth its own ‘personality’, the Royal Ascot is also about dressing up, spotting celebrity guests and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere and fine dining of the racecourse. In fact, in many cases, the elaborate outfits and celebrity attendees often overshadow the races themselves. It is an event for socialising and to celebrate a long, British tradition.
The website has a detailed section on the correct dress code for the Royal Ascot, including what to wear in the Royal Enclosure, the Grandstand and the Silver Ring consequently. The Royal Ascot upholds hundreds of years of tradition in order to provide an event to remember, so it is important that you dress to fit the part!
Who Can Attend?
Anyone who purchases a ticket and who abides by the dress code is able to attend. You will be purchasing tickets for different ‘sections of the event’. Tickets for the Silver Ring and the Grandstand are both open to members of the general public and you can purchase various benefits in conjunction with these tickets, such as Silver Ring Furniture or the Grandstand Picnic in a Box.
The Royal Enclosure is exclusively for Royal Ascot Members, which provides access to exclusive viewing areas and top notch facilities. In order to become a member, you must have attended the Royal Ascot for a minimum of four years running, where you can then apply.
Tickets are available on sale at the Ascot home website. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to become part of a widely appreciated cultural event!
