Halloween is fast approaching, and all children love to have fun on this day of spooky ghosts and ghouls. If you want to do something a little different this year and mix up the same old trick or treating routine with something that isn’t just focused on collecting sweets, why not consider a trip to London with all the family?
The London Dungeons has recently moved from its old location to a brand new spot on the South Bank, and the focus is now on fun rather than being too scary, so even the little ones will be able to join in. Here you can find out all about London’s grisly, gruesome history with lots of larger than life characters and lots of audience interaction, so whether it’s London’s medical history, the Great Fire of London or the plague, you’ll all learn something while you laugh your way round the dungeons.
If you’re a little older and don’t have children in tow, a Jack the Ripper walk is perfect for Halloween. You will be taken around all of the most important sites from Jack the Ripper’s sinister attacks, and will find out more about who he might have been, his victims and the way he killed them. Certainly not one for the faint hearted, but the perfect Halloween event for those with a strong stomach.
For fans of creepy crawlies, spiders, bats and all sorts of other spooky critters, the London Zoo is holding a Boo at the Zoo event where children can get up close and personal with all sorts of creatures commonly associated with Halloween. Maybe it’ll be a giant tarantula coming to say hello or a slithery snake waiting to be stroked, or maybe something else entirely. Whatever it is, you can rest assured that the kids will love it.
