Towards the end of September through to the beginning of January 2015, the Old Truman Brewery Gallery in London will be hosting the ‘The Art of the Brick’ show by New York born artist Nathan Sawaya. Sawaya combines the wonder and imagination of childhood with the creation of adult artistic piece by making sculptures out of real Lego bricks.
He believes that you can use Lego to make practically anything, a phrase he lives by in his artwork.
Many of Swaya’s pieces are detailing the human form and it is astounding how well proportioned his Lego sculptures are, considering that they are made purely from Lego blocks.
The Old Truman Brewery is located in London near the London Overground station Shoreditch High Street and can be easily reached by car, taxi or hired coach. By using a coach or minibus for hire you can save yourself the stress of trying to catch your late train or having to wind your way round daily commuters. Why not book a minibus if you’re travelling with a College or School on a school trip?
‘The Art of the Brick’ is on Show from 26th September 2014 – 5th January 2015 and tickets are available online. The show is comprised of 75 works of art on show that consist of over one million Lego pieces.
