When you have young children it can be hard finding something that they will concentrate on for any period of time, but creative activities with kids are always a great way for them to learn and for you to spend some quality time with your loved ones.
The Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham offers Sculpture Sundays where children can attend with their parents to learn how to model, construct and cast a number of different materials in order to create their own sculptures from scratch!
The events are always incredibly popular and cover a whole range of different materials, subjects and styles of sculpture.
The Workshop runs two sessions per Sunday. The 11am session is for 4-8 year olds whereas the 1:30pm session is for children aged 8 and over. Located at the University of Birmingham it is within easy reach of taxis and hired coaches and doubles up as both an art gallery and a concert hall for various shows and showcases in Birmingham.
If you’re in Birmingham for the day or fancy travelling to help your kids get in touch with their creative side, why not try out Sculpture Sundays? The next session due is 29th November where they will be covering Salt Dough decorations.
