Today is St George’s Day! In honour of the brave saint, Liverpool has a fantastic three day festival planned for this weekend. With a huge number of attractions, celebrations, fun activities for kids and more, there is everything you could possibly need at the St George’s Day festival in Liverpool this weekend!
The festival encompasses a range of medieval themed activities, including a medieval Banquet in St George’s Hall, a fancy dress competition in Central library and shield making workshops in the World Museum. Storytellers will tell children the tale of St George and how he came to be, in the magical rendition of the meaning behind the festival.
Plus for the first time in 20 years, the Punch and Judy puppet theatre will also make a welcome comeback and will entertain families in St John’s Gardens. The Playhouse Theatre, the Walker Art Gallery and The Marriott Hotel also have a number activities planned for the weekend.
