For a refreshing musical that is a comedic take on the lives of 6 unemployed ‘men’, four of whom were formerly steel workers, watch The Full Monty at The Noel Coward Theatre in London. The main six characters decide to get together to form a male striptease performance in order to earn enough money to be able to do something meaningful with their lives.
Each main character is at a standstill in their life, whether unhappy with their physical appearance (Dave), unsure about their sexuality (Lomper), or fearful about their relationship with their children (Gaz), and the Full Monty brings this group of vagabonds together in the most unusual way; by taking all their clothes off.
Join Gaz as he struggles to keep together a mismatched crew and juggle unemployment with his son, all in the aid of earning some money to start a new life, and to be able to see his son. Although the Full Monty is a hilarious comedy musical, the meanings hidden within the coy lyrics and hilarious moments are serious, and the musical touches on important subjects such as father’s rights, working class culture, homosexuality and obesity.
All in all The Full Monty is a refreshing view on the modern ‘man’ and what is expected of them versus what many men in today’s world actually feel. The Noel Coward Theatre is located in Central London, near Leicester Square, and parking is available. Hire a London Coach or Minibus for a day trip now!
