One of Scotland’s most famous horse races, the Ayr Gold Cup was first run in 1804 and has existed in its current form since 1908. With a distance of just 6 furlongs this handicap race is one of the shortest on the racing calendar but still attracts big crowds each September when it is held. Although originally restricted to horses bred and trained in Scotland only the Ayr Gold Cup is now open to all and hasn’t had a Scottish winner since 1975.
If you are planning on visiting Ayr for the Gold Cup with a group then why not consider taking the stress out of organising your trip by hiring a coach or minibus?
